Accreditation Manager Recertification 

It is important to recognize agency success within CALEA® Accreditation programming is often related to the work and dedication of the assigned accreditation manager. CALEA Accreditation Manager Certification began in 2018, and since that time many individuals have received this coveted professional credential. Certified Accreditation Managers enhance the professional standing of those serving in the respective role. The criteria for recertification reflects the importance and value of the accreditation manager role. 

Recertification Criteria

  1. Attend the CALEA® Certified Accreditation Manager Continuing Education Unit (CEU) Workshop at a CALEA Conference. (Documentation provided at event)
  2. Prior to attending the Certified Accreditation Manager CEU Workshop, complete and remit the Certified Accreditation Manager-Subject Matter Expert Feedback Report. (notify CALEA staff when attending workshop to receive link) 
  3. Serve as the Accreditation Manager of record for an agency awarded CALEA Accreditation without conditions. (Accreditation Manager Appreciation Certificate serves as documentation)
  4. Remit one scholarly article to CALEA between 500-5000 words in length on a public safety or accreditation topic, with appropriate citations. 

These must be completed within four years from the time of the most recent certification or recertification, with a six-month grace period for application.  All requirements for recertification must be supported with documentation and remitted through the application portal below.  Recertification is the responsibility of the candidate and CALEA does not retain any supporting documentation for this purpose. However, staff will verify documentation provided as necessary. Candidates will not be eligible for recertification if application and requisite documentation is not remitted with the established six-month grace period. NOTE: All requirements must be addressed within the four-year window. All documents must be submitted in pdf format.
