The CALEA Standards Review and Interpretation Committee, referred to as the “SRIC” meets in Executive Session just prior to each CALEA conference to work on standards for revision or creation of new ones. At the CALEA conference, the entire Commission votes to either approve a standard or direct staff to post the standard for client comments. Deleted language is shown in strikethrough and highlights. The following Law Enforcement standard 31.4.8 Sworn Appointment Requirements is being changed to include “All” sworn positions. Below is the suggested changes:
31.4.8 (M M M M) Sworn Appointment Requirements
All any sworn positions must meet any federal/state/provincial requirements equivalent to full-time personnel at the time of sworn appointment.
Commentary. This standard applies to both full-time sworn employees and part-time sworn employees whether paid or unpaid (M M M M)
