CALEA continues as the gold standard by promoting professionalism in public safety through the promulgation of standards and the administration of accreditation programs. In addition to maintaining a contemporary body of standards, CALEA is committed to advancing the assessment process to ensure the best return on an agency’s investment. The four-year assessment process includes annual remote web-based assessments conducted by CALEA Compliance Services Members. These annual assessments improve process consistency as well as agency compliance with applicable standards. Standard compliance reviews and area of interest interviews are conducted annually during remote web-based assessments. CALEA Compliance Services Members are another point of contact for agencies during the assessment cycle.
