Peer-to-Peer Recruitment Incentive Program
The process of CALEA® Accreditation is not for every agency. In fact, it is really only for those agencies that strive to be the very best public safety service providers. It takes strong leadership, staff support, and a willingness to change. It also takes a commitment to serve as an advocate for the process in the broader public safety community.
CALEA wants to acknowledge representatives from enrolled agencies and active CALEA Assessors who serve as strong CALEA ambassadors by recruiting new agencies to enroll in CALEA Accreditation. To that end, the Commission has approved the Client-to-Peer Recruitment Incentive, effective January 1, 2013. During this time, representatives of currently enrolled CALEA agencies and active CALEA Assessors who are directly responsible for the recruitment of agencies signing a CALEA Enrollment Agreement will receive a credit to be applied toward future conference attendance costs. The credit is predicated on the first year accreditation fees for the enrolling agency. The following table defines the credit amount:

To be eligible for the respective credit, the Agency Recruitment Program Assurance Document must be completed and remitted to CALEA within 30 days of the new agency’s enrollment. Any credit received through this incentive program must be applied within one year of its issuance. The credit is only applicable to CALEA conference registration costs. The credit may not be transferred in whole or in part to others. CALEA retains the right to approve or deny credits and the credit has no other redeemable cash value. Only one incentive is provided for each accreditation program enrollment. The CEO of the new agency enrolling in accreditation must sign the Agency Recruitment Program Assurance Document and should only sign one such document. Only one recruitment credit will be approved by CALEA and if multiple fully executed Agency Recruitment Assurance Documents are received, the first received by CALEA will receive the respective credit. Credits will not be approved for qualifying assessors when they are employed by the newly enrolling agency.
Active CALEA Assessors who recruit new agencies and are employed by agencies enrolled in CALEA Accreditation must have their CEO sign the assurance document. Active CALEA Assessors who are not employed by agencies enrolled in CALEA Accreditation may sign the assurance document. In all cases, the individual responsible for the new agency’s recruitment must be listed on the document where required and the respective credit will be applied to this person.
CALEA knows representatives from enrolled agencies and active CALEA Assessors are the best resource for attracting new agencies to the CALEA Accreditation process. We value those that serve to keep CALEA Accreditation strong and look forward to providing these credits to those that broaden the impact of accreditation within the public safety community. CALEA is the Gold Standard in Public Safety and we are proud to demonstrate our confidence in our clients and assessors.
