The SRIC recognizes that some agencies will not have a written directive that meets the new standards intents. However, in adopting these standard revisions and new standards content, the SRIC stresses that agencies begin working on policy and standards compliance immediately. The Commission recognizes that for some agencies it will be a period of time to work the policies through the legal review process, however, the Commission stresses the importance to achieve compliance as soon as practical. Agencies having their fourth-year assessments in the next few months will need to show some progress in policy work if they haven’t achieved compliance with the new and revised standards.
