The purpose of CALEA® Accreditation is to establish a foundation within public safety agencies that focuses on achieving the best outcomes in the delivery of services. Consistent internal and external review, combined with third-party validation of an agency’s policies and procedures, is critical in the delivery of high-quality public safety services and promotes accountability.

In 2019 CALEA recognized 40 years of providing professional credentialing services in the field of public safety. As a result of the effort and dedication of all those associated with the organization, CALEA continues to make tremendous advancements, all culminating in the enhancement of services across each accreditation program.

As you know, the Commission cancelled the March 2020 CALEA Conference, and in April announced that the July conference originally scheduled to take place in Oklahoma City, OK, would be held via a virtual platform. We know this is not ideal but given the situation many of us find ourselves in, we are excited about what we have planned for our first CALEA Virtual Conference.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the operations of almost every organization around the globe, and has caused individuals to adjust their daily life activities to maintain personal safety and health.

Accreditation Manager Certification Award is presented to current CALEA Accreditation Managers whom have provided significant contributions to the public safety profession and CALEA. Congratulations to the March recipients!
