CALEA Regional Program Manager
CALEA currently has an opening for the position of Regional Program Manager for the Southwest Region. This is a part-time position without benefits, requiring on average less than 30 hours of work each week. Compensation will be based on qualifications and hours worked and will generally range from $55,000 to $65,000 annually.
CALEA aspires to have Regional Program Managers live and work in their assigned region and for this reason preference will be given to applicants from the Southwest region. A Bachelor’s degree is desired, but an equivalent combination of experience, training, and education may be considered. Additionally, CALEA is seeking candidates that can work and reside in the specified geographic regions, as these are remote work positions requiring professional relationship building with public safety professionals in the regions.
The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of public safety policies, operational procedures and administrative practices. Additionally, they will have the ability to develop and maintain marketing leads from self-initiated activities, as well as the ability to initiate and maintain interactive relationships in order to effectively explain the CALEA Accreditation Programs and related concepts to agency executives and community decision-makers.
Regional Program Managers must be able to work under general to no supervision on specialized tasks or technical issues, and evaluate reports and documents to determine compliance with CALEA standards. The successful candidate will be able to assemble materials and resources to support the needs of clients and potential client agencies, and make decisions based on the analysis of pertinent information and public safety trends.
The successful candidate will be able to develop lesson plans and present effective training and information about the accreditation process. And, they will be able to deal tactfully, courteously, and effectively with a wide range of clients, employees, and the general public.
The position requires travel periodically for periods up to one week. The successful candidate must be able to travel by any contemporary means of transportation including airlines, automobile or rail. They must also be available to work evenings and weekends, and maintain availability by telephone as required.
The successful candidate must be proficient in using Microsoft 365 products including Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. They must be able to become proficient with CALEA’s client database system and knowledgeable in the use and navigation of PowerDMS. Candidates must be able to operate in a mobile environment and have the technological skills to meet work requirements. They must be able to effectively use Sales Force software for prospective client management.
