Vanderbilt University, a private research university in Nashville, TN, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for this inaugural role of senior project manager, public safety. This is an on-site leadership role.

Reporting to the Chief of Police, the Senior Project Manager is a strategic leader responsible for managing and implementing high-level initiatives, services, and advancements in areas of command interest for the Vanderbilt University Police Department (VUPS). This role oversees multiple complex projects with concurrent deadlines, ensuring each is executed on time, within budget, and aligned with the mission of VUPS to safeguard the institution and its diverse community.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree (master's preferred) and progressively responsible leadership experience in law enforcement/public safety (higher education experience is highly desirable). Candidates will have demonstrated success managing multiple projects with competing deadlines; knowledge of technology solutions to enhance safety and operational efficiency; strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; and the ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive results. Experience with training program design, strategic planning, and strong fiscal management skills are necessary for this role.
