Congratulations to seven Accreditation Managers who received certification at the Fall Virtual Conference!

CALEA recognizes that in order to maintain its commitment to excellence, a continual review of its processes is conducted. The accreditation process is considered an essential management model that guides public safety agencies through organizational growth, challenges, and change.

The Department of Justice, this week, announced Standards for Certification on Safe Policing for Communities that will be used to determine United States law enforcement agencies’ eligibility for Department of Justice discretionary grant funding. The Standards of Certification are a result of President Trump’s Executive Order 13929 (June 16, 2020), Safe Policing for Safe Communities.

During a recent podcast with PowerDMS, Executive Director W. Craig Hartley, Jr. discussed the responsibility of public safety agencies.

The Commission had decided to proceed with a virtual conference in November 2020 at no cost to all attendees.
