The CALEA PRESIDENT’S AWARD was developed to recognize select individuals and/or organizations for their continuing support of CALEA Accreditation as a professional institution in the field of public safety. The award ALSO recognizes the significant contributions to the advancement of accreditation across the public safety profession.
CALEA and the NATIONAL POLICING INSTITUTE have collaborated on countless research efforts, training sessions, and conference presentations to provide resources to the public safety community. It is also important to note, that when CALEA was in search of strategies in furtherance of accreditation advancement in Mexico, the National Policing Institute employed its expertise in grants administration and the coordination of technical assistance to support this objective. In fact, their efforts contributed significantly to the enrollment of nearly 90 public safety agencies in CALEA Accreditation from the respective country. More importantly, Presidents Jim Burch’s leadership has worked to develop in-country resources, which effectively institutionalize the concept of accreditation in Mexico.
President Burch and the National Policing Institute are clearing leaders in the field, contributing time, talent, and passion in support of those protecting others. CALEA could not be prouder to recognize this professional partnership with the CALEA President's Award.
